Imagine Juno MacGuff and John Bender in detention one Saturday, insulting each other into submission. Or the lovable losers from "Superbad" joining their cinematic cousins from "American Pie" in pursuit of, well, what high school guys pursue.
Perhaps a meeting of "Mean Girls" and "Heathers" would be too much to take, but a dance-off between Ren McCormack from "Footloose" and, yes, the title character from "Napoleon Dynamite" would be something to behold.
Maybe it's time to lift a boom box, commandeer the school P.A. system or put on side one of "Led Zeppelin IV" to woo a girl. Or it could be that driving your best friend's dad's Ferrari or the crazy scientist's Delorean will lead to instant coolness.
And then there's the inspiration delivered by coaches and teachers who buck the system that let high schoolers know they can do so much more than hand over their underwear to a geek to show off in the boys bathroom.
They could select the best movies that represent their lives.
In honor of the best picture Oscar nomination for "Juno," myochigh.com's student correspondents and staff voted to determine the top 25 high school movies of the past 25 Oscar seasons.
After all, the golden age for the genre started in 1982 when Jeff Spicoli stepped into Mr. Hand's Ridgemont High class and changed everything. Be assured that the classics are on the list, but also know that two 2007 movies made the top five.
So take a look at the results, and, of course, let us hear how we blew it. Simply register for myochigh.com and comment on our choices.
