They're expected to be the "it" fashion accessory this year – and believe it or not, scarves can work for the warmer spring and summer temps, too.

We're not talking about knit scarves here, we're talking luxe-looking, feather-light wraps made of linen, silk or even T-shirt material. The gauzy-scarf trend has seemingly been made popular by celebs like Jessica Alba, who's been photographed wearing the scarves wrapped around her neck in a variety of styles.

We figured you might need some tips on how to tie the scarves, so we enlisted the aid of Renee McCracken, owner of PinkMascara.com and Pink Mascara boutique in Irvine. McCracken said that over the holidays, she couldn't keep up with customers' demands for a line of Italian linen scarves by Love Quotes that were featured in an issue of InTouch magazine.

"They're the perfect accessory, great with a simple top and jeans or a fun dress with metallic flats," said McCracken.
